This charming town was home to Agostino Coppola, grandfather of Francis Ford Coppola, who lovingly referred to it as “Bernalda bella.” In 2004, Francis acquired the Palazzo with a vision to transform it into a luxurious boutique hotel, inviting travelers to discover the beauty of this unspoiled region.

The Cinecittà Bar, located at the front of the Palazzo, is a classic Italian café and pizzeria that spills onto Bernalda’s main street, offering the perfect spot to enjoy local flavors while soaking in the lively atmosphere of the town square.

Tucked away at the far end of the gardens, our generously sized 10-meter pool provides a serene space for relaxation and family enjoyment. Complete with bathrooms, showers, changing cabanas, and full bar and food service, it offers a quintessentially Roman experience—swimming in a private oasis within a historic Italian town.

One of the Palazzo’s most enchanting features is its secluded private garden, carefully preserved to maintain its historic charm. Centered around a baroque fountain, the garden unfolds through hidden pathways, natural arbors, and rows of fruit trees. Beds of fresh herbs, citrus trees, and organic vegetables flourish here, supplying our kitchen with the finest homegrown ingredients.
