Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan on West 56th Street at 5th Avenue, The Whitby Hotel is a vibrant celebration of contemporary art and design. Just two blocks from Central Park and steps from renowned restaurants, galleries, and museums like MoMA, the hotel offers an ideal city retreat. Spanning 16 floors, The Whitby features 86 rooms and suites, each individually designed by Firmdale Hotels’ founder, Kit Kemp, in her award-winning contemporary English style. Every room boasts its own bold color palette, floor-to-ceiling windows, and select suites include private terraces. Bathrooms are elegantly crafted from granite or marble, featuring double basins, walk-in showers, and luxurious RikRak bath products, with freestanding tubs in all suites. The pinnacle of luxury is the Whitby Suite on the top floor, which offers two master bedrooms, a spacious drawing room, and two furnished terraces.
The Whitby Bar & Restaurant is a lively and airy space with high ceilings, a striking 30-foot pewter bar, and plush banquettes. Large warehouse-style windows open to a bright orangery, with vaulted ceilings and skylights that flood the space with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere for dining and relaxation.
