This rustic, luxurious stay lies in the wilds of Iberá National Park in north-eastern Argentina. Formerly a cattle ranch, the property was restored by the late conservationist Doug Tompkins; it is now dedicated to rewilding the Iberá Wetlands and reviving its ecosystems, in partnership with Rewilding Argentina.

Hotels Own Introduction
A Historic Lodge in the Heart of Iberá
Rincón del Socorro is set within Iberá National Park, one of Argentina’s most ecologically diverse areas. The surrounding landscapes include seasonally flooded grasslands, Caranday palm groves, broomsedge fields, savannas, espinal woodlands, and gallery forests—offering a striking mosaic of natural habitats.
From 19th-Century Ranch to Conservation Landmark
Originally built in 1896, the former cattle ranch was carefully restored and expanded by conservationist Douglas Tompkins. The architecture reflects classic European influences, with wide galleries designed to stay cool in the summer and a central fireplace providing warmth on cooler days.
Authentic Stays and Immersive Comfort
The lodge offers 11 guest rooms and a relaxed, homelike atmosphere. Guests can unwind by the swimming pool, listen to birdsong, or explore the park on guided excursions. Full-board service includes meals crafted from produce grown in the on-site organic garden.
Flavors of Argentina
The restaurant welcomes both guests and day visitors for lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. Menus combine local traditions with Argentine and international flavors, and the signature Argentine barbecue is a highlight of the culinary experience.
