Hotels Own Introduction
Desert Sanctuary
Deep within the dramatic landscapes of Jordan’s Dana Biosphere Reserve, Feynan Ecolodge offers an extraordinary escape shaped by authentic Bedouin hospitality and profound natural beauty. Reached by a rugged desert track and illuminated by candlelight after sunset, the lodge rests peacefully within the magnificent Wadi Feynan, surrounded by mountains, silence, and star-filled skies.
Eco-Luxury in the Wilderness
Recognised by National Geographic Traveler Magazine as one of the world’s finest ecolodges, the award-winning, solar-powered retreat delivers one of Jordan’s most immersive sustainable travel experiences. Created through a partnership between EcoHotels and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, Feynan combines environmental responsibility with meaningful cultural connection in one of the kingdom’s most spectacular protected landscapes.
Authentic Experiences
The 26-room lodge invites guests to slow down and connect with the rhythms of the desert. Spend days hiking through untouched wilderness, sharing sweet tea with local Bedouin families, discovering nearby archaeological sites, or simply unwinding in the lodge’s peaceful courtyards and terraces. Every experience is rooted in respect for the land and the local community, creating a journey that feels both deeply personal and socially conscious.
Local Flavours
Dining at Feynan celebrates the richness of local produce and traditional recipes through wholesome vegetarian cuisine inspired by the region. Homemade jams, pickles, and freshly prepared dishes highlight ingredients sourced from nearby farms and village shops whenever possible. Each day, traditional Bedouin flatbread known as shraak is freshly baked by Um Khalid, a local Bedouin mother, using a classic saj oven — a simple yet memorable expression of the lodge’s close ties to the surrounding community.
