Hotels Own Introduction
a mountain retreat with modern luxury
For the discerning traveler seeking to experience the world’s oldest mountain range without sacrificing modern comforts, Flat Mountain Farm is the ultimate getaway. Just two miles from the vibrant town of Highlands, this 28-acre mountain-modern micro-resort is a sanctuary of style and serenity. Featuring two meticulously restored antique log cabins, an antique Scandinavian-style barn with sliding white oak doors, a private pond and waterfalls, scenic hiking trails, and inviting spaces for events and gatherings, Flat Mountain Farm offers an unparalleled escape into nature.
the peregrine
The largest home on the estate, The Peregrine, features four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. A grand foyer welcomes you into a thoughtfully designed space, complete with a chef’s kitchen, a prep kitchen, and a cozy breakfast nook. The formal living room, adorned with a stone fireplace, flows seamlessly into the elegant dining area, complete with a wine fridge and bar. A library with a dedicated workspace and a separate TV room/den—both with stone fireplaces—add to the home’s warmth and sophistication.
the kingfisher
Originally located in Burlington, NC, this antique log cabin was relocated and reimagined at Flat Mountain Farm. The Kingfisher features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and sleeps up to 10 guests. The living room’s stone fireplace creates a cozy gathering space, while two primary suites on the ground level offer en-suite baths and king beds. Upstairs, a secondary living room with a queen sleeper sofa and a charming bunk room with four twin beds complete the layout. Designed in a style that blends rustic charm with Ralph Lauren-inspired elegance, this cabin is tucked away near a secluded pond, fed by a gentle stream that enhances the tranquil atmosphere.
the wren
Located across from The Barn, The Wren is a stylish two-bedroom, two-bathroom retreat that comfortably sleeps six. Designed with a crisp, casual aesthetic—think J.Crew meets log cabin—the home features vaulted wood ceilings, a king-sized primary suite on the main level, and a second king bedroom upstairs with a private balcony. A second living area with a sleeper sofa and clawfoot tub adds to the home’s relaxed luxury.
Whether you’re here for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, Flat Mountain Farm is a place where nature and elegance coexist in perfect harmony.
