Hotels Own Introduction
Whether you’re staying for a single night or an extended visit in Raleigh, Heights House offers thoughtfully tailored accommodations. Choose from our historic luxury suites or our newly designed standard rooms, each providing a unique blend of comfort and style.
Heights House Hotel, formerly known as Montfort Hall, carries a rich history. Commissioned in 1858 by William Montfort Boylan, the Italianate-style mansion was designed by British architect William Percival and constructed by builder Thomas Henry Briggs Sr. Completed in 1860, the house proudly sits on the highest point in the historic Boylan Heights neighborhood of Downtown Raleigh. It is one of the few surviving pre-Civil War houses in the area and holds designation as both a National and Raleigh Historic Landmark.
Throughout its 162-year history, the mansion has experienced a succession of owners, renovations, and restorations. Despite these changes, the structure’s exceptional craftsmanship has preserved its enduring legacy. The interior design artfully blends Italianate-inspired furniture and decorative elements with contemporary pieces, creating a seamless dialogue between the past, present, and future.
The Parlor at Heights House offers a curated menu that pays homage to the mansion’s Italianate heritage. Guests can savor Italian-influenced craft cocktails, a selection of all-Italian wines, and locally sourced beers. Complement your drink with charcuterie boards and other delicacies, all designed to enhance your experience in this historic and elegant setting.
