As of last weekend, the 19th-century Parisian-inspired boutique property—planted in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city—debuted an über-luxe suite stocked with pretty much everything a luxury lover could want, from an entire wine cellar complete with vintage Cristal to a closet of Louboutin heels.

Inspired by the sins of 1900s Paris, Moulin Rouge-esque artworks line the walls of the dimly-lit central staircase at Hotel Pigalle, and are a bold contrast the light and airy guestrooms, which have elegant, Chinoiserie-style wallpaper and giant "Princess and the Pea" style beds.

The rooms and common areas are exquisitely decorated – wherever you look, there is something of note: a hat, a picture frame or a very special pair of Pigalle Louboutin heels. These can be borrowed – in several sizes – from the reception desk.
