A Reimagined Industrial Legacy
Once home to the Lijiang Machine Tool Factory, the site has been thoughtfully transformed following Dayan Ancient Town’s recognition as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. As the factory relocated, its original structures were reborn as a hotel, preserving memory while embracing renewal.
Craft, Material & Time
Cradled by the historic fabric of Dayan Ancient City, local stone, wood and copper plates are given new life through the skilled hands of artisans. Weathered by time yet refined by contemporary design, these ancient materials intertwine with modern forms, radiating a renewed brilliance. Like an elder who has lived through countless chapters, the architecture dons new garments, carrying its past gracefully into the present.
The Spirit of the Naxi Courtyard
At the heart of the residence lies the Naxi courtyard, its true soul. Mottled stones and pebbles bear the quiet imprints of time, while ancient eaves, tiles and stonework gather in layered harmony, narrating centuries of history. In the garden’s centre, shifting water features, a delicately crafted stone arch bridge and a reimagined Naxi stage bring the space to life—where tradition and modernity meet, composing a courtyard of singular character that tells the enduring story of Lijiang.
