Appropriately in this deeply historic town, the hotel riffs on both the past and the present. Old frescoed ceilings are illuminated by contemporary chandeliers; beneath the dome of what was the Church of St. Hedwig is now the hotel’s buzzy centerpiece, Club Hedwig, with a circular bar and DJs spinning on weekends (locals flock here).
