The Lodge Wadjemup — Rottnest Island
A place to rest, retreat, and refresh. Nestled just behind the main settlement and overlooking the island’s iconic salt lakes, The Lodge Wadjemup offers a relaxed sanctuary where visitors can stay, eat, drink, and play — whether for a quick escape or a longer island adventure.
Stay a little, or a while
Wadjemup is the traditional Noongar name for Rottnest Island, and The Lodge pays homage to this deep cultural connection by embracing the island’s unique spirit. With a variety of room types available — from comfortable bunks to spacious premium and family rooms — there’s something here for every kind of traveller.
Stage 1 now open
Guests are welcomed with a brand-new reception and inviting communal spaces to eat and drink. Choose from ‘Courtyard Rooms’ or ‘Lake Rooms,’ thoughtfully reimagined within the site’s heritage buildings. Coming mid-2025, Stage 2 will introduce the brand new ‘Poolhouse Rooms,’ along with a pool and function spaces for gatherings and events.
Sunsets — a taste of the island
Our open dining and bar space, Sunsets, offers indoor and outdoor seating, serving up Mediterranean-inspired dishes made with local produce. Whether you’re after a crisp beer, a handcrafted cocktail, or a well-curated glass of wine, you’ll find it here. Walk in via Kitson or Boreham Street — everyone is welcome.
Play your way
Rottnest Island offers some of Western Australia’s most memorable experiences. From cycling and snorkelling to skydiving, sunset sailing, golf, and lawn bowls — the island is yours to explore. Dive in, slow down, or do a little of both.
A local welcome
The Lodge Wadjemup is proudly brought to life by a team of local West Australians, dedicated to creating a lasting and positive contribution to Wadjemup and every guest who visits.
