Locally sourced materials - pinewood, copper, black earthenware - abound at Lux* in the very Tibetan design, and the 30 bedrooms have a proper sense of place, with balconies overlooking the Yangtze. It's all very mellowing, very spiritual, jollied up with a sprinkling of colour from the woven red throws and cushions.
