A Storied Retreat on Pink Sand Beach
Founded in the 1960s by an adventurous movie star in search of clearer waters and endless horizons, Coral Sands Inn & Cottages has long been a relaxed yet refined escape in the Bahamas. Surrounded by lush tropical scenery, the resort blends cinematic ocean views, story-filled interiors, and a striking natural landscape that feels both intimate and grand.
Just steps away lies the legendary Pink Sand Beach—often described by travel writers as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Dining by the Sea
Coral Sands offers relaxed, all-day dining experiences that capture the spirit of the island. Guests can gather for shared plates and fresh seafood at the lively beach bar, or enjoy seaside classics at the resort’s Italian bistro, where Mediterranean flavours meet Bahamian influences and the freshest seasonal catches.
The Spirit of Harbour Island
For generations, Harbour Island has attracted artists, adventurers, sailors, and free spirits. Visitors often say they feel the island’s energy the moment they arrive at the dock in Dunmore Town.
Endless Beach Days
Set directly along Pink Sand Beach, Coral Sands provides effortless access to the turquoise waters and soft shoreline. When not in the sea, guests can unwind by the infinity pool, where long sun-filled afternoons are best enjoyed beneath pink-and-white striped umbrellas with a classic Goombay Smash in hand.
Set within spectacular terraced gardens and with just 24 rooms, the boutique hotel showcases the finest Italian craftsmanship in a riot of ornate Baroque elegance. All this comes together in a sublime retreat – almost like a private home – that makes the most of this truly magical lakefront location.
Few hotels manage to become instant icons, but the newest property from Grand Hotel Tremezzo owner Valentina De Santis has pulled it off just a year after she rebooted a private villa from the 1780s on the shores of Lake Como as this 24-room hotel.
The shores of Lake Como are home to more than their fair share of extravagant luxury hotels, but even in this context Passalacqua stands out. It’s the smaller sister of the deservedly famous Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and offers a similar level of luxury at a boutique-hotel scale.

If a luxury hotel existed on the moon, it might feel like Amangiri. In the ochre canyons of southern Utah, it’s less resort and more mirage, a minimalist masterpiece carved from desert stone.
While the freshness and lightness of touch is remarkable, its staff superlative and the green juice certainly the freshest you'll find in the tri-state area, it is the design that has everyone wide-eyed and exhilarated... Amangiri seems to exist in some parallel - and wildly more spectacular - universe.
This resort, designed to blend into the landscape, is located on a perfect-scoring 600 acres surrounded by the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Grand Staircase-Escalante. It's understated but absolute luxury in the desert.
Desert-luxe hotel Amangiri in Utah roosts amid dramatic desert canyons at the edge of a national park - and its pool is no less impressive. It's built around a giant taupe rock, which you can swim up to and bask on like a lizard.

Owner Michel Reybier and designer Jacques Garcia have collaborated on several projects (La Chartreuse de Cos d’Estournel, on the estate of the same name in Bordeaux, is another glorious example). But La Réserve Paris is their masterpiece.
While La Réserve is less ostentatious than Paris’s officially designated palace hotels, it’s every bit their equal, if not their superior — at the very least it’s gone straight into the top tier of Parisian luxury hotels.
A five-star off the Champs-Elysées for the staunchest boutique hotel fans, who feel like being in a private home, with all the truly customized services that that entails.
La Réserve may well be the most thrillingly sensuous hotel in Paris - a city not unacquainted with such pleasures... The opulence is shameless, and irresistible.

There are plenty of spots to sequester yourself in, including the poolside cabanas or the celebrated spa, but if you want to see and be seen then The Polo Lounge is the place to rub shoulders with Hollywood powerbrokers.
For true luxury, take advantage of the sprawling hacienda-style grounds by booking one of the bungalows. Utter privacy and the option of butler service guarantee you’ll feel like a star, and the Presidential Bungalow comes with a private jacuzzi and lap pool.
The Beverly Hills Hotel has been attracting guests (famous and not) since 1912, and its star power is by no means fading. While celebrities love the hotel for its luscious private bungalows (perfect for canoodling and doing whatever else stars do), the rest of us love the tropical gardens (gorgeous) and the retro-style pool (so movie-star chic).
Its four-year makeover is nearly complete, with a primped poolside Cabana Cafe? and new juice bar added, so you can go clean and lean beneath those cerulean skies and spindly California palms.

Maçakızı is the defining jewel of Türkbükü bay. The property has evolved into a glamorous boutique hotel that retains its enchanting, creative spirit and understated opulence.
On a peninsula with its share of opulent villas and over-the-top resorts, Maçakizi (pronounced mahcha-kiz-uh) is a standout, the sexiest hotel in all of Bodrum... During the summer, paparazzi float in Zodiacs just offshore, training telephoto lenses on Maçakizi's decks.
Tucked away in a glittering corner of the Bodrum peninsula, Macakizi does the chic-seaside-scene thing to a T. Yes it's glamorous and sexy and fabulous. But it's also very laidback, which means the charming staff couldn't give a monkeys if you're Kate Moss (a regular) or just an average Joe.

When Ayla Emiroğlu arrived in Bodrum in 1977, the town was little more than a collection of simple houses, a few cars, and stray cats wandering its quiet streets. It had been thousands of years since Homer spoke of the "wine-dark sea" of the Aegean, but the peninsula—adorned with fragrant orange and lime trees—still retained its timeless charm. There was an air of faded elegance where the blazing sunlight met the deep blues of the sea and sky.
"Bodrum was my freedom," says Emiroğlu, the captivating owner of Maçakızı, the hotel that played a key role in turning this once-sleepy town into a hotspot for the global elite. Today, guests at Maçakızı can indulge in a menu lovingly crafted by the talented Chef Aret Sahakyan, offering a delectable array of fresh Mediterranean dishes alongside beloved Turkish classics.
Back in the 1920s, this leafy stretch of the Waikoto River, downwind of the thundering sky-blue waters of Huka Falls, was a simple fishing camp. Over the following century, however, it would become the blueprint for every luxury lodge in New Zealand.
This grande dame of the country’s luxury lodges and longtime magnet for royalty and rockstars needed, at 101 years of age, a serious refresh. One year later, it is done: The 20 suites now have floor-to ceiling windows to make the most of their gorgeous setting on the Waikato River, and there’s a proper spa, but we applaud the “don’t mess with perfection” motto.
Known as the “Grande Dame of New Zealand,” Huka Lodge started as a simple fishing lodge in the 1920s and has grown into the premier location for luxury experiences.

Food is tasty and healthy, and the service sunny. For anyone in need of rest, Sterrekopje Farm has become a guiding light—and South Africa’s wellness star.
A 50-hectare biodynamic garden-farm, home to oak trees and 17th-century dust-pink gabled buildings, which now house 11 sanctuary-like rooms, a bathhouse, bakery and atelier, with two pools, a lake for wild swimming and a floating yoga deck.
This is a deeply nurturing, therapeutic retreat on a 125-acre regenerative farm surrounded by nature. Rather than a farm stay or spa, think of it as a soft landing for the soul, providing the natural beauty to absorb whatever you need to discard or embrace.
Nestled in the foothills of the Franschhoek mountains, Sterrekopje is a biodiverse farm and a soulful sanctuary for healing, creativity, and play. Rooted in ancestral wisdom and a mindful approach to living, this luxurious farmhouse is dedicated to regenerating the earth, body, and soul.
Whether you seek a private retreat or a taste of idyllic farm life, Sterrekopje offers a carefully curated space designed to encourage deep, restorative sleep while inspiring contemplation and creativity. This fertile land cultivates not only food but also fresh ideas and new perspectives, nourishing both our minds and bodies.
Every moment—every ritual, every bite, every breath—is an opportunity to celebrate the gifts of Mother Nature.
